According to the PlayStation Store, the ‘Left Behind’ DLC for The Last of Us will be released on February 14th. How lovely.
Also known as: “How you’re going to die”. Dark Souls II will be out March 11th for PS3 and Xbox 360 with a PC release shortly after.
Telltale Games has announced that the next episode for The Wolf Among Us will be released during the first week on February.
This is news to me. I mean, yeah, a delay for a game isn’t necessarily news, but a delay for one of my favorite video game series that I didn’t even know was in production is definitely news to me. I’m kinda shocked, but not really? I mean, for the last 2 iterations of the Dead or Alive fighting franchise (before DOA5), there’s been an Xtreme game behind it, so maybe this isn’t that shocking. Maybe it’s been announced, but I definitely never heard or read anything on it. Regardless, the game has been delayed. I came across an article on Kotaku through it’s “Talk Amongst Yourselves” articles in which a reader/writer contributed an article they had translated from Japanese, which you can read here. I’m actually pretty excited to find out about this. The Xtreme series has definitely been one of my guilty pleasures in gaming. Not in a “omg boobies” way, but more along the lines of something like Animal Crossing. Taking part in tedious gameplay to unlock items has always been one of my guilty pleasures, and this one is at the top of the list. It doesn’t hurt that the actual volleyball mechanics are really fun. I can’t begin to count how many matches I’ve played where I’d volleyed more than 100+ times, ending in one of my more intense gaming experiences. It’s like a bouncier version of Pong (pun intended). Now that I’m aware of its existence, I’ll definitely try to keep tabs on this one as it nears completion. Until then, definitely give the article a read.
It looks like Team Ninja will be updating the Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate roster with a brand new character for consoles this spring. “Marie Rose” was originally introduced in arcade versions of DOA5U in Japan back in November. She will be released along side an update for the game as well as another round of costumes for current characters.
IGN has a great article on the upcoming single-player DLC for The Last of Us, titled “Left Behind”. The campaign will focus on a younger Ellie and her friend Riley before the events of the game. You can read all about it here.
PlayStation Plus subscribers will be getting a free trip to Columbia, starting tomorrow! No, not that Columbia. The really racist one in the sky! Lost? It’s okay. Because, why not? Announced today, Call of Duty: Ghosts will be getting it’s first round of downloadable maps labeled “Onslaught” brings three new multiplayer maps, a new extinction map, and two new weapons. The most interesting of these things being the ability to play as Michael Myers from the Halloween movies in the “Fog” map. As out of place as this might seem, the Call of Duty franchise has always gone a little crazy when it comes to DLC maps, starting with the zombie mode maps from Black Ops. Continue reading
Well this is certainly something we’re not used to seeing, though it does happen
occasionally rarely, but Ubisoft has announced they will be bumping the release date of Rayman Legends on PS4 and XBOX ONE up to February 18th. That a whole 10 days ahead of its original February 28th release date! Amazing isn’t it? Continue reading
Though nothing has been officially announced through Bethesda or any other official outlet, it’s worth noting that for a brief part of yesterday, the Bethesda website had listed Skyrim as coming to PS4 and Xbox ONE. This was later taken down after news spread across other video game sites throughout the day. This could have been a mistake from someone working on the site, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Aside from everything we touched on earlier, here’s a quick recap with the developers on everything you need to know about Alien: Isolation
Though we’ve technically known about it for months, Sega and The Creative Assembly (the team behind the Total War series) have finally lifted the veil off Alien: Isolation, a new FPS-survival horror game for PS4, Xbox One, and their respective current gen counterparts. After the absolute failure of Aliens: Colonial Marines, Creative Assembly has quite a lot riding on this title to bring this franchise back into good standings. The first thing you’ll notice when looking at the title for Isolation is that this is an “Alien” title, not “Aliens”. Continue reading
Bethesda announced the inevitable “Game of the Year” edition of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Containing all 3 DLC packs with it (Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn), it will be released stateside on June 4th with a Europe date of June 7th. Was anyone else expecting this sooner?
Deadpool will be out June 25th for PS3 & Xbox 360 for $49.99 and on PC for $39.99.
I’ve been playing through the amazing 2D adventure brawler Guacamelee! this week on my Vita and couldn’t help but notice all the amazing video game references sprinkled throughout the game. Can you name them all?
Injustice: Gods Among Us comes out this Tuesday, April 16th for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and WiiU.
Dragon’s Crown will be out this Summer for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.
Remember that hefty delay placed on the then WiiU exclusive Rayman Legends? Turns out it was worth it. On top of bringing the platformer to Xbox 360 & PS3, developer Ubisoft Montpellier took that extended time to add 30 new levels as well as several new bosses to the game.
FarCry 3: Blood Dragon will be available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 via XBLA & PSN respectively (PC too!) on May 1st. Get ready!
Well this was unexpected. One of my favorite games from the 16-bit era, Flashback was an amazing 2D adventure game that used vector style cutscenes much like Another World. I absolutely can’t wait to play this ‘re-imagining’ of the title later this year on PSN and XBLA.
What the hell is Blood Dragon, exactly? Aside from the few images that have popped up recently and the minute long teaser trailer (posted below) not much is known about FarCry 3‘s latest expansion. Continue reading
Rockstar has already said that Grand Theft Auto V will be their biggest game yet. If these screenshots are anything to go by, it definitely looks the part. I can’t wait to get my hands on this game!
Ever since it’s debut at the 2012 Spike VGA’s, everyone has been non-stop about The Phantom Pain actually being the next Metal Gear Solid title. Well, they were right! Officially revealed at the Game Developer’s Conference today, Kojima and crew showed off the first official trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Continue reading
