Announced today in Japan during a video interview with Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata, New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be releasing for the 3DS this August in Japan (and possibly North America too!).
The game’s first images show a return to the old school side-scrolling gameplay along with the return of the Tanooki Suit power up from Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario 3D Land. Unlike the latest Mario release, the suit this time around will give you the ability to fly like old times! And that’s always something to look forward to. You can also expect all of Mario’s friends to return as well, like Luigi, Toad, Peach, etc.
Now all Nintendo needs to do is announce a glorious return to Super Mario Sunshine. That would seriously make me the happiest little boy in the world.
